While traveling across the US on two separate road trips, I wanted to find a unique way to document my travels. Storytelling is an important part of my creative work and I wanted to tell the story of my travels using a point and shoot camera with a consistent subject matter. I chose to document each landscape we passed through out of the same window of the moving car. Although each landscape looks drastically different from the next, I wanted to also show a cohesive style to the collection of images overall. Nature is a large source of inspiration for me and the goal of the series is to capture that inspiring beauty. This collection of photographs later became inspiration for my earth mask sculpture.
